Introduction
2/5/2017 2 Mickey Mouse never just appeared out of nowhere! Walt Disney created him. Walt had to work for it to, and if you read on you’ll find out about it. It wasn’t easy! His story proves that dreams do come true!

Disney’s Born!
2/5/2017 3 You probably know when Mickey was born, but do you know when his creator was born? Walt was born on December 5,1901 in Chicago Illinois. He had three older brothers Herbert, Raymond, and Roy and a sister Ruth.

Drawing Begins
2/5/2017 4 Walt Disney developed a lot of his drawing ability in his childhood. The Disney’s moved to Marceline MI in 1906, they bought a 45-acre farm. Walt started school when he was 7 years old. He doodled in class, and he carved his initials in his desk.Walt had to draw on toilet paper. He and Roy grew very close. The Disney’s again moved to Kansas City. Roy and Walt delivered newspapers and never got a cent. Elias moved back to Chicago.

Disney’s Education
2/5/2017 5 I don’t think Disney ever went to college, but he was usually always busy. Walt moved to Chicago and attended McKinley High in 1917. He took night classes at Academy of Fine Arts, he wanted to become a newspaper cartoonist.

World War I
2/5/2017 6 Roy and Raymond enlisted. Walt wanted to, but he was to young and he needed his parents permission. Flora and Elias said no, but Walt forged his parent’s signature and lied about his age. He wasn’t sent until after the war. He was 1 of 50 men to go across seas and help sick Americans. He and his friend made a scam made them $300 He returned to Kansas in 1919.

Early Career
2/5/2017 7 His boss gave him a camera, he experimented with it and found new tequneics. He sold them to Newman Theaters. So he worked at Film Ad by day and Newman Laugh-O-Grams at night. During that he made Alice’s Wonderland (unfinished). Everyone moved out by 1921, he was all by himself.

Beginning a Career
2/5/2017 8 The beginning of a great and award-winning career. Alice’s Wonderland. They took it for $1,500 for every finished Alice cartoon. Disney made the very first feature film ever and it was called Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. It earned them over $8,000,000! He won an Oscar for it, which was one big one and seven smaller ones.

Walt Disney Studios
2/5/2017 9 Walt and Roy opened a studio it was called Disney Brothers Studio produce a cartoon called Oswald the Lucky Rabbit. Before when he worked at Laugh-O-Grams, he produced Jack N the Beanstalk, Cinderella, and Alice’s Wonderland all as cartoons. Roy and Walt produced Mickey Mouse, in total secret too! It was the first cartoon to see and hear.

2/5/2017 10 Walt produced films, Films, and more Films. The Mickey Mouse films were Plane Crazy, Gallopin’ Gauncho, and the first one to see and hear was Steamboat Willie. Also he made the Silly Symphonies named the Skeleton Dance. Next he made Trees and Flowers, which was the first in color. Disney opened a new art school. He won an Oscar for Mickey and for Flowers and Trees. Later he made the 36 Silly Symphony. He also made The Three Little Pigs.

Disney’s Big Year
2/5/2017 11 Disney later opened another studio. There he made Pinocchio, and Dumbo. Dumbo opened in theaters in 1941 it made him 4,000,000! Cinderella opened in 1950 it was a hit! Later Treasure Island and Peter Pan were released in 1953. In 1955 a new TV show aired for the studio and it was called Disneyland. Then Lady and the Tramp, Sleeping Beauty, 101 Dalmatians, and Marry Poppins all went to the screen. He won three Oscars and The Jungle Book opened.

Starting a Family
2/5/2017 12 Did you know Walt Disney was married? Disney married Lillian Bonds on July 13,1925 in Idaho. Lillian giggled the entire ceremony! 1933 their first daughter Diane was born on December 18. Later in 1937 they adopted their second daughter Sharon. In 1957 the Disney’s move to a new house with a train track around it. By 1957 Walt had one grandson and two granddaughters.

Walt’s Achievements
2/5/2017 13 The beginning of some awesome theme parks that are still here today. Disney wanted to build a theme park. 1952 he put his plan into action in a lot in California. It opened on July 17, 1955. The opening day was horrible! It was called Disneyland. Next he had plans to build one in Florida. October 1971 Walt Disney World opened.Later Disney was awarded Presidential Medal of Freedom and in 1966 he was honored Grand Marshal of the Tournament of Roses Parade.

End of Life for Walt
2/5/2017 14 After a long and wonderful life, Disney struggles with lung cancer in his left lung. On November 2,1966 Disney was diagnosed with Lung cancer in his left lung. The doctor told him he had two years and six months to live. He went to St. Joseph’s Hospital across from his studio. At 9:35 AM December 15, 1966 Walt Disney died.

Conclusion
2/5/2017 15 Although Walt Disney never got a chance to see the finished Walt Disney World, many of his dreams were still carried on. He always tried his best. Our movies and theme parks would have probably never been the same if it weren’t for Walt Disney.
