  Independence

  The Republic of Kazakhstan is the main national holiday of the Republic National Independence Day , which is celebrated annually on December 16.Selecting a date of celebration was not random , in 1991 this day the Supreme Soviet adopted a law on the independence of the Republic of Kazakhstan and State Sovereignty . Exactly one year later by President NursultanNazarbayev signed a decree on the state sovereignty of Kazakhstan , and then passed a law on the independence of the Republic of Kazakhstan and State Sovereignty .Kazakhstan – the last country that has signed the law on the sovereignty of the countries of the former USSR . Kazakhstan Today – leader of the Central Asian region , which is rapidly developing in recent years. Significant progress in the national economy achieved thanks to the restructuring of the economic system , which relied mainly on the extractive industries , the typical pattern for the Soviet era .

  Constitution day

  Kazakhstan's Constitution was adopted by the national referendum 21 years ago on August 30, 1995. More than eight million people took part in the national referendum.It declared Kazakhstan a country with presidential government and August 30 was declared the Constitution Day of Kazakhstan.The Constitution Day is a national holiday. In line with the Labor Code, this day is a day off. According to the law On holidays in Kazakhstan, if the holiday day is a weekend day, the workday following the holiday day shall be considered the day off. Therefore, this year Kazakhstanis have days off on August 30, 31 and September 1.

  President Day

  The holiday was proposed by a group of senators, who suggested that December 1, the day of election of the first president of Kazakhstan, should be made a national holiday.NursultanNazarbayev, who turned 76 in July 2016, was first elected president of Kazakhstan, at that moment the Kazakh Social Soviet Republic which was part of the USSR, 23 year ago on April 24, 1990.Since then NursultanNazarbayev has been elected president of the independent Kazakhstan a few times through direct elections - in 1991, 1999, 2005. In 1995 his term as president of Kazakhstan was extended by the national referendum. Nazarbayev collected 95.55% of votes during snap presidential elections in April 2011.In 2007 the parliament amended the law to allow NursultanNazarbayev to run for president an unlimited number of times.
