Biography of Beatrix Potter

Helen Beatrix Potter born on 28 of July in 1866, London. She was an English children's writer and illustrator.

Summer holidays were spent away from London, in Scotland and in the English Lake District which was the subject of her painting from an early age.

Her artistic talents were recognized early. She enjoyed private art lessons, and developed her own style, favouring watercolour. Potter wrote and illustrated The Tale of Peter Rabbit, publishing it first privately in 1901.

In 1905 she bought a farm called“Hill-Top” in the Sora village. Beatrix Potter was one of the first who began to conservation of England. Beatrice bequeathed 15 farms to the National Park.

Beatrix Potter died in 1943, 22 December because of the leukemia, at age 77.
