Hello, dear friends! Glad to meet you!
At this lesson we are going to continue working at our topic “Healthy living guide”, but the main thing we are going to discuss today is “Healthy eating”. Today at our lesson we shall discuss problems of healthy eating, you will learn how to eat well in order to be healthy.
You will do some exercises, practice in reading and speaking and by the end of the lesson you will do an online test about healthy eating.
II Основной этап урока.
1. Warming up.
Now look at the screen and complete the sentences you see there. In your handouts you can find these sentences, too, as well. There are some words which you can use in your sentences. (слайд 2)
2. Phonetic drill
Let’s get to the seven important things that are in food and help people to be healthy, strong and energetic.
They are: vitamins, carbohydrates, fats, protein, minerals, fluid and fibre. (слайд 3)
3. Аудирование
Now I want you to take your handouts and find the task No 2. You see here three words: vitamins, carbohydrates, and protein.
– Now listen to the interview! Never mind if you don’t understand everything. Try to find the answer to the following question: “From what food do we get these things?”�– Write it in your handout while listening!
INTERVIEWER: Maureen’s going to answer lots of questions about how to train the athletics. She’s also going to answer your questions about food. What should young people eat, Maureen, if they want to be fit and healthy?
MAUREEN: Well, the most important thing is balance and variety. When you’re training, your body needs lots of different things so you must eat different kinds of food. You should eat lots of fresh fruit and vegetables because they give you lots of vitamins, especially Vitamin C which is important.
You should also eat enough food with carbohydrates, because when you’re training you need a lot of energy. You should eat bread, potatoes and pasta. All these things give you carbohydrates. But you mustn’t eat too many sweets or chocolates because you’ll put on weight and they’re bad for your teeth.
Finally, protein is important when you’re training. For protein you must eat meat and vegetables, like beans. You should also eat plenty of eggs and milk. Eggs and milk also give you calcium which is important for your bones.
One other thing – you must eat regularly every day. You mustn’t eat your meals at different times, for example, or eat a lot one day and a little the next.
You should also have a good breakfast and you shouldn’t eat too much before training, it’s very bad for you.
Oh, I nearly forgot: when you’re training, you must never smoke cigarettes!
INTERVIEWER: Thank you very much, Maureen. And that’s all we’ve got time for today on Sport Today. Next week we’ll be talking to Les Hardy, the rugby player, so send in your questions now!

You heard what Maureen had said about healthy eating. In American and British schools students have health classes where they get to know about keeping fit and nutrition (healthy eating). They get some tips on the matter. Look at some of them in your handouts. (слайд 5)

6. Discussing
Now let’s discuss why it’s important to еat all the seven important things. Look at the screen, you can see your daily diet here. (слайд 6, 7)

III Заключительный этап урока
Учитель оценивает работу учащихся, комментирует оценки, поясняет домашнее задание.
